Handles well, great to ride and very comfortable, as far as road bikes go. Also, very "tight" so that the components don't rattle.

Be weary of faulty front derailleurs

The front derailleur did not work from the getgo. It got stuck in the high chainring during the test ride. They serviced it and the next day it got stuck again. When I brought it back they said it happens all the time because the shifters are designed for 3 chainrings not 2. They tightened the cable and told me it would work. Came back the next day with the same issue, got same adjustment and got stuck again 3 miles from the shop. I returned the bike right away, but not after being charged $50 for clean-up. Good luck to the next guy that will buy it (they said it goes back on the rack). I don't know wether to be upset at myself for accepting the charge or at them for charging me. Two things I know: never again will I walk into Spokes Etc and never again will I buy another Specialized unless the price justifies better components.

I Have had this bike for about 4 races and i saw a bike that was probably a 1,200 dollar bike and i passed it! This bike is very cheap for what it is really worth. The only thing i would complain about is the brakes. I crashed once because of it. But other than that it is a veeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy good bike. P.S. I have never had a road bike this cheap and this fast!

Comments:

This bike is FAST! It is really, really, really fast. I mean fast. It is a comfortable, responsive, reliable speed machine and is a great deal for the price. I was just getting started with competitive bike riding so I was hoping no to spend very much. I had no clue that a bike as cheap as this could be this impressive. The only con I have found with this bike so far is that the brakes don't provide quick stops. This was only an issue when i went off course on one occasion and hadn't paid attention to where I was going. After that I have found this feature rather convenient because it allows me to keep control while stopping from high speeds. Overall I consider this an amazing buy. If you are looking to start road biking or if you already love it i suggest purchasing this bike before anyone figures out what it should really be worth!

Comments:

Purchased this bike in May 2010 and Im quite happy with it. This is my first road bike in more than 20 years. I have been riding Mountain bikes for the last few years and decided to get back in road cycling. Ride is smooth but can still feel a little jarring on rough roads even with the carbon fiber forks. Handles very well and feels solid without rattles. At higher speeds (30+) it feels a little twitchy in the front but not unstable. Shifting works just fine and the gearing works well even on some very steep hills in my area. Overall performance for the price is excellent. Only issues with the bike so far is I had some loose spokes develop after about 400 miles and the brake pads need to be better.

Comments:

I have this bike since a couple of days already and the only few regrets I have is about the crankset (Truvativ), a Sora or a Tiagra would have been much better I think but anyway, those kind of pieces can easily be replace in the future even at the cost of bargains on [...] later. The brakes also, seems to be Sora Sti but there are no logo to verify on them and their power is a bit poor. Also the Sora shifters need a wide movement to decrease speed, can be annoying if you have small hands like I have.

Just for the price is an excellent value. I visit many stores and different bike brands, but this one was the best for quality components, price and nice ride. I really recommend this bike, extremelly fast, light, good ride and if you want something more expensive just upgrade this bike is not much difference with the bikes of 2 to 3K Enjoy

I'm brand new to the sport of road cycling, and I must say the allez sport is awesome. I own a Kona mountain bike as well, and truly love riding on the trails, but the allez is perfect for my needs for fitness/training. I test rode a trek, and was impressed, but the specialized just felt more comfortable on me. Shifting is smooth, it's light, and for the price ([$], I mean come on, you can't beat it! This bike is fast, really fast.
